Rick Sacks is a percussionist, composer, and multimedia artist known for blending theatre, technology, and music. A graduate of S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook (M.Mus, 1976), he has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall, the NY Shakespeare Theatre (Papp), and Alice Tully Hall, and toured internationally with Red Sky Performance at the Vancouver and Beijing Olympics and the Shanghai Expo.
Rick’s works push creative boundaries, from Water Music—a Victoria Symphony commission featuring remote-controlled flying fish—to acclaimed theatre scores performed across North America and Europe. He served as Artistic Director of Arraymusic (2011–2016) and continues to freelance with ensembles including Art of Time, New Music Concerts, and the Southern Time Band.
Rick helped launch The Promise in 2018 and later drummed on the 2020 album Lost In Love No More for the AIDS 2020 virtual presentation.
