Bryant Didier is a powerhouse of Toronto’s music scene—a bassist (electric and upright), guitarist, singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and live/studio sound engineer with over three decades of experience. Known for his versatility and improvisational spirit, Bryant has performed with some of Canada’s most celebrated artists, including Tom Cochrane, Bruce Cockburn, Billy Bragg, Jane Siberry, Carole Pope, Molly Johnson, Shakura S’Aida, and Jackie Richardson, among many others.

Since 1989, Bryant has owned and operated B. Musique Productions/Studio, a boutique recording space in a 110-year-old former schoolhouse in west Toronto. There, he has co-written and recorded thousands of works spanning jazz, reggae, rock, hip hop, blues, country, Latin, classical, opera, metal, folk, electronic, and more—for artists, film, television, commercials, and theatre. His credits include projects with CBC Radio, Nelvana, Kraft Foods, Nintendo, Ford, Mattel, MAC Cosmetics, and the Stratford Festival, as well as numerous independent films and documentaries.

A tireless innovator, Bryant is a co-founder of the Evolutionary Music Cooperative (Evmc), created to invigorate Toronto’s original music scene with a vision of a “21st-century Motown.” Together with violinist Tom Hamilton, he also launched ArtsCity Toronto, a platform to showcase and live-stream local talent, paired with a podcast exploring how artists, industry leaders, and policymakers can expand opportunities for Toronto’s creative community. His recent projects include The Wylde Ones (a rock ’n’ roll “electric ghoul” musical) and a co-written sci-fi musical with Triumph guitarist Mladen Alexander.

In addition to his professional work, Bryant is deeply involved in community initiatives—collaborating with youth, seniors, unions, and cultural organizations through music projects, performances, and education. He is a fixture at Toronto’s Labour Day celebrations and regularly performs with the CAW/Unifor float.

Since 2018, Bryant has been a driving force behind T and The Promise, serving as producer and bassist. He wholeheartedly believes in the band’s mission to merge powerful music with social impact—carrying forward a vision of hope, justice, and transformation.
